Stone Love made their addition with Reggae Dancehall music in the early 70's, and have since become a big hit in Jamaica and other countries throughout the world. Stone Love's creator is Winston Powell, or WeePow. He is also the creator of Stone Love's sound system and the reason they have become what they are today. Winston grew up in Molynes Road, Jamaica, where Dancehall music was very leading and ever since his childhood, he wanted to control his own sound system. Winston had no idea that his dream would soon become a reality.

When Winston was only 17 years old, an acquaintance named Denton Henry told him that if he was interested, he had a component set for sell. Winston knew this may be what it takes to get his career started, so in a flash he began saving money so he would be able to afford the supplies. When he saved up enough money, he purchased the component set, and that became the start of creating what is now known as the Stone Love sound system. Throughout the years, he began purchasing extra components to build his own sound system. By the late 60's, Winston, along with a few others, began to do small parties, and in 1972, they got their first actual gig. That is when Stone Love became Stone Love.

Stone Love has become a very well known name in Reggae Dancehall music and other forms of music as well. They have played in locations all over the world and are now a household name. The Stone Love sound system has become very well known and is highly admired throughout the Reggae Dancehall music scene. Winston never imagined that his dream as a child could lead to such success or he would have so many people looking up to him and Stone Love. Stone Love has changed the presentation of Reggae Dancehall music and has led many people to pursue their dreams within and outside of the Reggae Dancehall genre.
